
Equity, Diversity & Inclusivity (ED&I) is at the heart of YUFE’s identity, and we aim to make it an indispensable element of our DNA, a thread that runs through all our activities. We have laid the foundations for this by developing the YUFE ED&I Strategy, which sets out our vision and accompanying action plan, a flexible roadmap for structural change across our alliance. To support delivery of the Strategy, we have also developed the YUFE ED&I online course, which aims to increase learners’ knowledge and understanding of, and commitment to, ED&I. The course is open to all members of the YUFE community. We encourage you to access it and hope you find it eye-opening, thought-provoking, and inspiring.

YUFE ED&I VISION
- For YUFE to be a European alliance that is characterised by equity, diversity, and inclusivity
- For YUFE to be a place of positive and open discourse around equity, diversity, and
inclusivity - For all YUFE institutions to have inclusive systems, structures, policies and procedures
- For the diversity in society to be reflected at all levels of YUFE institutions
- For all YUFE staff and students to be advocates for equity, diversity and inclusivity and to inspire others to share the YUFE values

YUFE GENDER EQUITY PLAN
YUFE’s Gender Equity Plan (GEP) 2024 – 2030 supports our commitment to promoting equality of opportunity and experience for everyone, regardless of their sex, gender identity, or expression. It sets out a range of progressive and ambitious actions to be implemented on the YUFE level. We also hope to inspire the partner institutions that shape our alliance to adopt actions from this GEP to further strengthen their existing policies and develop new ones.

YUFE EQUITY, DIVERSITY, AND INCLUSIVITY STRATEGY
YUFE’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity (ED&I) Strategy 2024 – 2030 and its accompanying action plan reflect the values on which our Alliance is based and support our commitment to building a truly integrated European university. They set out our ED&I vision and the actions we, as an organisation, are committed to taking to achieve that vision. Each of our partner institutions is encouraged to use the YUFE-level policies, practices, and processes to further develop their own, making them more inclusive and aligned with each other.

Fostering a respectful and inclusive environment
The Code of Conduct has been designed to build commitment to the YUFE values, and to provide students, learners, and staff of diverse backgrounds with the knowledge and tools to build a cohesive, inclusive, and globally engaged Europe of the future.

YUFE’s Anti-Harassment Policy
In our commitment to fostering a safe and respectful academic environment as is outlined in the YUFE Code of Conduct, we aim to create spaces where all forms of harassment and bullying are actively prevented, addressed, and counteracted. We strive to prevent any unwanted behaviours and encourage individuals who experience or witness actions that violate YUFE’s Code of Conduct to take the role of an active bystander or, when necessary, signal these to members of the YUFE Alliance.
