BioYUFE is a grass-roots initiative between biology and life science faculties across the YUFE network. We work together to provide shared international teaching for our students, and to build up collaborations between our staff and students in all areas of life science research. Our major activities include online elective courses, summer schools and webinars.

Courses
A major aspect of BioYUFE is allowing life science at any of our partner Universities to take online elective courses (in English) from other institutions. In this way, we hope that students can expand both their scientific interests and international horizons. A current list of courses available can be found here.

Virtual Campus
In order to take one or more of our online elective courses you need to first register on the Virtual Campus and then for the “BioYUFE” program. Once you have done this, you will then be able to register for your courses.
If you have any questions, then please contact us using the addresses below.

Summer Schools
In addition to courses during the academic year, we also offer a number of summer schools, to allow students to develop their knowledge and skills with fellow students from across Europe. Details of upcoming summer schools can be found in the Virtual Campus.

BioYUFE Contact
Contact information at each YUFE University
We are very happy for you to contact us if you have any questions! The “BioYUFE contact” at each University can provide information to local students about the BioYUFE programs generally, and should also be your first contact if you have questions about the syllabus of a course you want to take at their University. The “YUFE admissions contact”, at your home university and one that you wish to take a course at, can assist with technical issues concerning registration and receiving grades.

BioYUFE Webinars
Each year, we run several themed webinars, in which two or more guests from different Universities present work on important areas of the life sciences and society, with the opportunity for online discussion and debate. Upcoming BioYUFE webinars will appear in the event section. You can also watch recordings of recent webinars on the YUFE YouTube channel

SCAIRY
Sustainable Climate-Change Action via Interdisciplinary Research in YUFE
The aim of this project is to help young YUFE members to network and to foster future interdisciplinary collaborations across the divide between humanities and natural sciences. SCAIRY focuses primarily on doctoral, post-doctoral, and early career researchers (ECRs) interested in collaborating across disciplines to develop effective climate action.
