Happy European Day of Languages!

26 September 2024

With 24 official EU languages and more than 200 languages in total, Europe is inherently multilingual. That calls for a celebration!

This Day of Languages aims to promote linguistic diversity, encourage language learning, and foster mutual understanding among people of different linguistic backgrounds. While languages are an important tool for communication, they also offer us a gateway to understanding each other on a deeper, cultural level. This sounds a lot like the YUFE, don’t you think?

According to Eurobarometer survey on Europeans and their languages :

  • 86% of Europeans agree that everyone should speak at least one language in addition to their mother tongue
  • Three out of five can hold a conversation in at least one other language, and
  • 35% of Europeans can speak two or more foreign languages.

In our globalised world, multilingualism is a valuable asset that enhances both career prospects and personal growth.

How do you craft your multilingualism?

Discover all the language offers available on the Virtual Campus and start your journey!

Thank you – merci – dankjewel – – danke -gracias – hvala dziękuję – ευχαριστώ – kiitos!
