At this event, we will watch the film “Sakbe: Roads of Life in the Maya Forest“ simultaneously in several locations across Europe and discuss the themes of the movie on a local level.
The film is a science-communication documentary about people, nature conservation, and conflicts in the Maya forest on the Yucatán Peninsula. It challenges us to reflect more broadly on the future prospects of the world’s remote regions.
The main event will take place in Kuopio (Finland). Other event locations are Torun (Poland), Madrid (Spain), Paris (France), and Nicosia (Cyprus).
