We are pleased to announce the launch of the updated UI/UX for the YUFE Virtual Campus. After months of design refinement, accessibility reviews, and technical improvements, the platform has been fully redesigned to offer a more intuitive, inclusive, and consistent experience for all users.
This release marks the first major milestone in our ongoing efforts to improve the Virtual Campus. While this version introduces a broad range of enhancements, it is only the beginning. Future iterations are already planned, with ongoing improvements based on user feedback and further testing.
What Has Changed?
- Unified Visual Design: All pages now feature a more consistent layout, improved spacing, and updated design elements including buttons, cards, and icons. The interface now performs smoothly across both desktop and mobile devices.
- Improved Navigation: A persistent navigation bar and clear breadcrumb trails make it easier to find your way. The search function is now accessible from anywhere on the platform.
- Target Group Pages: Users can now view personalised offerings depending on their role (students, staff, early career researchers, etc.), with improved structure and filter functionality.
- Course Discovery and Details: Courses are now easier to browse and understand. Labels and metadata have been added to course cards, and detailed views include a sidebar with key information and application status indicators.
- Enhanced Dashboards: Each dashboard section has been refined to improve readability and usability, making it easier to track applications, monitor progress, and view achievements.
- Updated Modals and Emails: System notifications, login screens, and emails have been restyled to match the new interface, improving clarity and usability.
What Comes Next?
This UI/UX release is a foundational step. More updates will follow, with ongoing improvements to performance, usability, and functionality. Feedback from users across the YUFE Alliance will play an essential role in guiding this development process.
