Students across Europe now have an opportunity to combine international study with hands-on learning, thanks to the launch of YUFE Minors, an innovative new initiative by the YUFE alliance.
These 30 ECTS programmes offer a unique chance to spend a semester abroad at one of YUFE’s ten partner universities, while tackling real-world challenges alongside local stakeholders and fellow students from across the continent.
YUFE Minors focus on specific themes or societal challenges, combining academic coursework with a distinctive Challenge Course. In this core component, students collaborate in international teams to address real-life issues posed by regional organisations, enhancing both their academic knowledge and practical problem-solving skills.
Available across YUFE’s 10 partner universities, the Minors are showcased each semester on the YUFE Virtual Campus, where students can explore detailed descriptions, intended learning outcomes, and the list of mandatory and elective academic courses.
“This is a truly student-centred and interdisciplinary initiative,” said a YUFE spokesperson. “The Minors give students the chance not only to study at a different European university, but to engage with real societal issues and develop skills that are increasingly vital in today’s job market—teamwork, research, critical thinking, and intercultural communication.”
