The YUFEthon, a dynamic 48-hour online event, ignited the minds of 12 talented students from UEF, UC3M, UNIRI, and UB. Held on October 25th and 26th, this intensive sessions challenged participants to address pressing global issues.
It is an activity that nurtures the Alliance´s approach for ”Entrepreneurship and Innovation” and “Community and Civic Engagement.” For this edition, the challenge questions were proposed by municipalities located in the regions where the YUFE universities are based. At the beginning of the YUFEthon, participants form their teams and subsequently work in small groups to progress through understanding the problem, defining and ideating solutions, shaping their value propositions, and ultimately building the solution. The YUFEthon is an integral part of the Entrepreneurship Training activities that pave the way for a YUFE Professional Star.
A European Team, A European Impact
A diverse group of seven students, including Ivan, Zornitsa, Christian, Melisa, Mariia, Mo Khogali and Fran united to tackle the challenge of the new urban designs. Representing over 6 nationalities, they ideated an app that leverages AI and AR to revolutionize city planning: THE WINNING IDEA!
This led them to win a golden ticket to join the YUFE Ideas Lab as part of the YUFE Incubation Program. This unique opportunity would provide them with mentorship, resources, and networking opportunities to further develop their groundbreaking project.
The YUFEthon aligns with the Alliance’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and community engagement. By involving students in real-world challenges, the event empowers young minds to become agents of change. The collaborative spirit and cross-cultural exchange fostered by the YUFEthon create a fertile ground for innovative ideas and sustainable solutions.
A Glimpse into the Future
The YUFEthon 2024 has set a new standard for collaborative innovation. As the Alliance continues to evolve, the YUFEthon will remain a cornerstone event, inspiring future generations of students to address global challenges and shape a better future.
